With all the recent volatility in the financial markets, I did a spring clean on my financial services industry podcasts. With so many to choose from, I thought I’d share a few that I enjoy listening to and find very useful.
Merryn Talks Money
https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/merryn-talks-money/id1654809850
This is a Bloomberg podcast, hosted by Merryn Somerset Webb with contributions from John Stepek. I’ve followed these two individuals for many years, from their time at Moneyweek through to their recent move to Bloomberg. I also find John’s daily newsletter “Money Distilled” has some really great content. You can subscribe here: https://www.bloomberg.com/account/newsletters/uk-wealth
Alternative Fund Insight
https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/alternative-fund-insight/id1632411742
This podcast from Will Wainewright is called Alternative Fund Insight. Will is one of the most connected reporters in the industry (working for the Bloomberg newswire and editing the trade magazine EuroHedge). Although this is quite a new podcast, the AFI is well worth a listen and includes some great interviews. The AFI podcast takes its listeners behind the headlines and explores the key trends in hedge funds and private markets. Interviews feature key decision-makers at leading management firms as well as investors, regulators, journalists and other stakeholders.
The Naked Short Club
https://www.resonancefm.com/programmes/558d773c50000b8db2000095
The Naked Short Club podcast can be found on Resonance FM hosted by Stuart McDonald. Dr Stu is extremely well connected and has many of the Financial Services industry big hitters on. You can hear Dr Stu and his expert guests dance around hedge funds, markets, the economy and the wider world with a bit of music and poetry thrown in for good measure.
Exchanges at Goldman Sachs
https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/exchanges-at-goldman-sachs/id948913991
In each of the podcast episodes, experts from Goldman Sachs share their insights on the developments shaping industries, markets and the global economy.
And finally…
One of my favourite market commentators, like millions of others, has to be Mohamed El-Erian!
Does anyone else have any recommendations that they find useful and would like to share? Please let me know….
