Background
Origin needed to source premises and establish their operational infrastructure quickly. It had compared the cost of having servers and IT in house to running a virtual office and concluded that outsourcing was attractive from both a strategic and economic point of view. The firm took the decision to outsource all non-core activities, including IT and investment administration.
Solution
Lanware created a complete virtual office environment with a VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) telephony system and a range of applications, including thinkFolio for its trading order management system as well as the Microsoft suite of office tools.
The virtual office provides Origin with an outsourced and secure investment administration solution and ensures all processes are standardised and fully compliant.
Origin has the flexibility of being able to work via the mobile office environment from anywhere in the world securely, with full access and visibility of all applications, including the ability to trade if required. It also benefits from enhanced disaster recovery capability.
