Lanware has been named Specialist Vendor of the Year at this year’s prestigious UK IT Industry Awards 2021.
The IT industry welcomed the return of the Awards after two years with a glittering affair and packed venue at London Battersea’s Evolution. Hosted by BCS and Computing and sponsored by big names such as Accenture and Cognizant, these national awards are a benchmark for IT excellence and impact in a fiercely competitive and fast-moving technology landscape.
The Awards are widely recognised in the industry as the largest and most well-known event in the technology industry calendar. Applicants are put through a gruelling and thorough process to meet the judges’ defined criteria to assess organisational, project and technology excellence. This year more than ever, the judges were looking for how individuals and organisations kept businesses, vital workers and the national infrastructure connected during the pandemic crisis.
Winning the Specialist Vendor of the Year Award is a significant event for Lanware. It is awarded to a specialist supplier (with annual revenues of under £50 million) who has achieved significant business success over the last 12 months, demonstrating high levels of customer satisfaction and business benefits from the users of its products and services.
As a specialist vendor to mid-sized financial services firms, Lanware demonstrated how you can on-board new clients despite the pandemic and achieve high levels of client satisfaction. Its client Skytra, who launched an innovative Financial Services start-up right at the start of the pandemic with the backing of parent company Airbus, over-came numerous challenges to establish their business with the help of Lanware.
Looking for an IT partner that was agile, experienced and responsive enough to support day one operations, Skytra engaged Lanware to help ensure the highest levels of security to meet stringent regulatory requirements. Lanware supported Skytra in launching its business by enabling a new green-field technology platform, setting up new UK offices, transferring data from Airbus, delivering connectivity to its trading venue and positioning the solution to support the future business.
Henry Duncombe, MD of Lanware says, “Lanware goes to market as a specialist managed service provider to Financial Services. Our specialism is at the heart of our culture, and with the rapid pace of technology change, particularly the move to the public cloud, more and more financial firms are looking to work with a specialist vendor. We’re therefor thrilled to receive the Specialist Vendor of the Year Award.”
He adds, “I’d also like to say a massive well done to the whole team at Lanware for their commitment and hard work throughout the pandemic”.
Jeremy Norwood, CIO, Skytra says, “I’d like to congratulate Lanware on this extremely well-deserved award. We have a true partnership with Lanware and they were critical to the success of launching our business during a very challenging time. We look forward to continuing to work with them and I have no doubt they will go on to achieve much more success into the future.”
